Chapter 2 - Talking to a Statue

        "What the balls was that?"

        "We hit a loading screen, duh!" He laughed at me. I shook my head trying to make sense of things.

        "I'm so confused!"

        "No worries, I did the same thing. I was just glad to- Stephano!" We had been walking around the new room when Felix interrupted himself. He rushed to the table to grab a small golden warrior with a sword. "Stephano, you're here."

        "Alos, Pewdie. I've been waiting for you." I jumped then flung myself against the wall. Did that statue just talk? "What's wrong with him?"

        "Is that thing talking?!"

        "It's Stephano, yeah he can talk." I removed myself from the wall and stepped up beside Felix. Stephano sat perched in Felix's hand unmoving and then its tiny head faced me.

        "Boo." I screamed. They laughed then carried on a conversation. I took the time to search the room. There were three more tinderboxes. When I grabbed one the white text appeared in my vision saying I 'picked up tinderbox.' After the third one I found myself swatting at the letters. My hand just passed through them. I growled in frustration before returning to Felix.

        "Alright can we go now?"

        "What is your problem?" Stephano addressed me.

        "I'd like to go home, sorry."

        "Oh, right. Let's go then." Felix led us to the only other door in the room. He tried to open it only to find it locked. "Did you see a key?"

        "No. There is no key." He was about to ask something else when the door exploded off its hinges. I flew backwards to land on top of the dining tables while the others landed in a corner somewhere. When I looked back there was a monster staring right at me. It had target lock too. As I hurriedly stumbled to a stand it ran at me. I yelled out as I flung myself backwards. Only centimeters away it suddenly disappeared in a cloud of smoke.

        "Fricking poofers!" Felix shouted as I lay trembling on the tables. "I hate poofers… hey you okay?"

        "I'll be fine. Let's go." I crawled off the table and began walking to the next room. Behind me I heard Stephano whisper but I ignored it. I searched the room for anything interesting. Sadly the room was empty aside from a note. It read:

   You've survived!

        Were the monster's exciting enough? I hope so! Beware my
    friend. There is no reloading. This is real. You either come out alive
    or die here. Good luck!

        "What does it say?"

        "We can die in here… for good." He cocked an eyebrow at me before taking the paper from me. His face fell as he read the same thing.

        "Well at least we got each other's back. Right?"

        "Yeah of course. C'mon I think it's time to face Mr. Monster." We headed back in the direction, passing through the dining room to the wooden door that wasn't there before. It opened to reveal a long corridor lined with suits of armor. Felix growled as we entered. He quickly knocked the mask off of one as he shouted.

        "I don't trust you!"

        "Shh! Don't bring the monster to us."

        "You scared?" Stephano taunted.

        "Kinda yes. I would like to live." I shook my head as I ran my hand through my hair. "I can't believe I'm talking to a statue…"
